Women who breastfeed receive health benefits also, such as reduced risks of:
Breastfeeding also helps the body recover from pregnancy and saves money.
As a pregnant woman, it would be helpful for you to take a breastfeeding course before your baby is born. While breastfeeding is one of the most natural experiences in life, it is also a learned art. It is an act that may or may not present certain obstacles. As a lactation consultant, I can assist you in preparation for breastfeeding before your baby arrives through the time you or your baby choose to wean. Breastfeeding is a process and some mothers and babies need assistance in the beginning with problems such as latching on to the breast properly and conformable positioning, while other mother/baby dyads experience obstacles and questions regarding pumping the breast, mother going back to work and weaning. Whatever the breastfeeding
challenges may be, I as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant can help by giving mothers the tools they need to overcome them.
